MOLD INSPECTION
MOLD INSPECTION
Always retain the services of an independent, third-party, licensed Mold Assessment Consultant (MAC). It is considered a conflict of interest for a remediation company to both tell you that you have mold, perform the remediation, and then declare the job complete.
At NTX Enviro, all inspections are performed by Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) licensed Mold Assessment Consultants (MACs). Our consultants are committed to providing the highest level of professional service in the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) industry. We bring:
- Licensing & Credentials – Full compliance with the Texas Mold Assessors and Remediators Law and Rules.
- Experience & Training – A background in mold inspection, water mitigation, remediation oversight, and property damage assessment.
- Unbiased Opinions – We do not perform remediation, ensuring no conflict of interest in our findings.
- Clear Communication – Results and recommendations explained in plain language so you can make informed decisions.
What our inspections include:
- A visual examination of the readily accessible, visible, and installed systems and components of the specific room(s) or area(s) identified and agreed upon with the client.
- Use of tools such as moisture meters, hygrometers, and thermal imaging cameras (as needed) to help identify potential hidden leaks or areas of concern.
- A written report detailing findings, photos, and recommendations.
NTX Enviro inspections are designed to verify the cause of visible damage and to help determine whether additional, hidden issues may exist.
Call today for a no-cost phone consultation regarding mold inspection or testing.
Our goal during the inspection is to:
- Identify sources of excess moisture contributing to potential mold growth.
- Locate and document affected areas, including moisture readings and visual assessment of possible mold contamination.
- Conduct sampling as appropriate (air, surface, or bulk) to compare indoor results against normal background mold levels.
- Provide recommendations for safe, cost-effective strategies to eliminate moisture and address mold issues.
- Assess whether professional remediation is warranted based on observed conditions and sample results.

The most common indoor air quality (IAQ) complaint is mold. Mold exposure may be associated with a range of health symptoms in some individuals, including watery or itchy eyes, coughing, headaches or migraines, nasal congestion, rashes, fatigue, sinus issues, and frequent sneezing. NTX Enviro does not provide medical advice. If you have health concerns, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
When performed correctly, the remediation of mold involves several regulated steps under the Texas Mold Assessors and Remediators Law (Occupations Code, Chapter 1958) and the Administrative Rules (16 TAC Chapter 78):
- Initial Inspection: An independent, third-party, licensed Mold Assessment Consultant (MAC) performs an initial inspection to determine the extent of contamination and whether mold sampling is appropriate.
- Mold Testing: Testing may include air, surface, or bulk sampling.
- Remediation Protocol: If remediation is required, the MAC prepares a Mold Remediation Protocol.
- Hire a Licensed Remediation Contractor (MRC): The remediation protocol can be submitted to licensed Mold Remediation Contractors (MRCs) to obtain competitive bids. This ensures that remediation contractors are working from the same detailed scope of work.
- Post-Remediation Verification (Clearance Inspection): A post-remediation clearance inspection must occur after remediation but before reconstruction.
- Clearance Report and Certificate of Mold Damage Remediation (CMDR)
