Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about mold inspections, mold testing, post-remediation verification (PRV), Texas mold regulations, scheduling, reporting, and environmental consulting services provided by NTX Enviro.
What Is a Mold Inspection?
A mold inspection is a professional evaluation performed to identify visible mold growth, moisture intrusion, water damage, or conditions that may contribute to indoor environmental concerns.
NTX Enviro inspections include visual assessment, moisture mapping, documentation, and recommendations based on observed conditions. When appropriate, laboratory sampling and testing may also be recommended.
Texas mold assessments associated with remediation protocols must be performed by a licensed Mold Assessment Consultant (MAC).
What Does a Mold Inspection Cost?
Inspection pricing depends on the size of the property, scope of the assessment, accessibility, and project conditions.
Typical Residential Pricing
- Limited Mold Inspection – Starting at $995
- Whole Home Mold Inspection – Based on square footage
- Commercial Inspections – Custom quotation required
- Multi-unit or large-loss projects – Project-based pricing
Pricing may vary depending on containment areas, number of samples, travel requirements, or additional testing needs.
What Is Post-Remediation Verification (PRV)?
Post-remediation verification (PRV), sometimes called clearance testing, is performed after mold remediation to determine whether remediation and cleanup activities have been completed in accordance with remediation objectives and applicable Texas regulations.
PRV inspections may include visual assessment, moisture evaluation, air or surface sampling, and written clearance documentation when appropriate.
What Does a Clearance Inspection Include?
- Visual inspection of remediated areas
- Moisture and humidity evaluation
- Air or surface sampling when appropriate
- Laboratory analysis through accredited laboratories
- Written findings and recommendations
- Clearance documentation and reporting
- Photographic documentation when necessary
Clearance inspections evaluate conditions observed at the time of the assessment and help determine whether remediation objectives have been achieved.
What Does Post-Remediation Verification Cost?
PRV and clearance testing costs depend on the size of the project, number of containment areas, accessibility, and the quantity and type of samples required.
Typical residential clearance inspections often begin around $795 for smaller projects, while larger or more complex remediation projects may require custom pricing.
How Long Does an Inspection Take?
Most residential inspections take approximately 2-4 hours depending on property size, accessibility, moisture conditions, and project complexity.
Additional time may be required for larger homes, commercial properties, multi-unit projects, or projects requiring extensive documentation and testing.
When Will I Receive My Reports?
Inspection reports and documentation are typically delivered within 1-2 business days following the inspection. Laboratory turnaround times may vary depending on sample volume and testing requirements.
Reports are released after payment has been received in full.
Are You Licensed?
Yes. NTX Enviro services are performed by a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) licensed Mold Assessment Consultant (MAC 1317).

What Is a Certificate of Mold Damage Remediation (CMDR)?

The certificate documents that remediation was completed in accordance with a written remediation protocol prepared by a licensed Mold Assessment Consultant and that remediation objectives were achieved.
